OXYDUR iVE

Patent-pending styrene-free vinyl ester resin system series

Vinyl ester resin systems are used in all areas that place the highest demands on chemical and thermal resistance.

In most cases, VE resin systems can withstand continuous exposure to aggressive media in tanks, pipes, pits and floors without any problems.

Epoxy-novolak vinyl ester resins are made from an epoxy-novolak epoxy resin and methacrylic acid. It is common in the market to use reactive diluent to achieve good applicability. Here, the focus is on the reactive diluent monostyrene. Because of its intense odor, negative physiological properties and the risk of explosive mixtures of styrene with air, sometimes complex technical measures, site registrations with the authorities and possibly impairing PPE must be used during application.

Our product group, newly developed in 2021, combines the positive properties of the common highly resistant VE systems with the great advantage of being styrene-free and solvent-free in general (TRGS 610).

Further important improvements to the standard:

  • Styrene- / MMA-free
  • High mechanical resistance, scratch resistant
  • Good curing below 10 °C due to a sophisticated accelerator-hardener combination
  • Resistance to solvents (e.g. acetone) significantly improved
  • UV-resistant / low yellowing
  • Low emission / low odor
  • Adjustable slip resistance (e.g. in the food industry)
  • Good storage stability (better than VE with styrene)
  • General building authority approval / crack bridging 0.3 / 0.4 mm (OXYDUR iVE LC)
  • Combinability with epoxy resin primer

The following OXYDUR iVE systems are available:
