In keeping with tradition, the meals and drinks were prepared and served by supervisors and members of the management board – this year the wild boar was freshly roasted on a spit. Cocktails were offered for the first time, served from a beautifully decorated bar, and the dancing, music and the colleagues’ exuberant mood made the party one of the best in the company’s history.
But aside from the celebrations, people also took time to support a worthy cause. The proceeds from the wheel of fortune, amounting to the considerable sum of 700 euros, were handed over to the Georg-Steuler Unterstützungsverein e. V.
Whether through illness, accident or forces of nature, each one of us could be affected by great misfortune and see our lives shattered from one day to the next.
This is why the Georg-Steuler-Unterstützungsverein was founded back in 1948. It is a registered association which offers financial support to employees of the Steuler Group who have fallen on hard times through no fault of their own.
The association's activities include supporting building modifications when someone becomes disabled, subsidising any assistance required and taking over a portion of the costs for a stay at a health spa. Among other things, it helped employees cope with the reconstruction work following the flood disaster in 2010.
