The new plant at the headquarters of the long-established company is being built on the extensive open space between the production halls in the north of the company premises and the A48 freeway. It will have a total fenced area of 3.09 hectares, which represents an area of approximately 4.3 soccer fields. The fence surrounding the plant will have a length of 833 meters.
In total, 9,012 modules with an output of 410 Wp each will be installed - the total output of the plant thus amounts to 3,694.920 kWp (kilowatt peak). Steuler will use 70% of the generated energy itself in the future.
The entire project will be carried out in a construction period of approximately eight weeks so that the plant can go into operation at the beginning of June after a technical inspection.
Two of the biggest challenges in the planning phase were the consideration of a wastewater-carrying pipeline from the freeway and a gas pipeline supplying Europe, both of which run across the company's property and thus right through the middle of the construction site.
The photovoltaic plant is another step towards securing the future of the Steuler Group, a milestone in sustainability and an important signal for the future.
