Against this backdrop, the company group launched the Steuler School Project two years ago. The aim was to introduce children and teenagers from the region to sport, in an active and fun way, and to get them enthusiastic about tennis. In partnership with the Base Tennis Academy, the project goes into the schools in the region to discover talented young tennis players and support their further development. Up to five qualified tennis coaches offer the students a wide variety of fun exercises to improve their feel for the ball, their footwork and their hand-eye coordination – a project that takes place during lesson time and which is of course free of charge for those taking part.
Afterwards, particularly talented students receive a personal invitation to attend further training at the Base Tennis Academy. The Steuler School Project works in cooperation with numerous associations and clubs in the region and thereby offers interested children and teenagers easy access to a local tennis club.
The students of Berufsbildenden Schule Montabaur (vocational school) and Realschule plus Bendorf (secondary school) were recently able to actively experience the Steuler School Project. On two exciting project days, they immersed themselves in the world of tennis. The Steuler School Project will be visiting other secondary schools in the region until the end of the year, before the team takes a break for the winter to refuel and come up with new ideas and further projects.
