Acid resistant plastic

KERA ® thermoset

Stable and highly chemically resistant. KERA® Thermoset - durable and safe.

What is KERA® Thermoset?

What we can do for you

We are an international supplier of industrial corrosion protection products and services. With our highly resistant material KERA® thermoset, we manufacture on request customised components for a wide range of process systems.

KERA® is a special thermoset based on phenolic or furan resin, reinforced with mineral glass fibres and / or carbon fibres as well as special fillers.

KERA® is the ideal material for processes requiring maximum chemical resistance at elevated temperatures. Whether hydrogen chloride gas is broken down into its chemical components in electrolysers, phosphoric acid is processed into white acid for the food industry or tyre cord and textile products made of viscose are spun in hot acid - KERA® impresses with its outstanding properties.

KERA® offers consistent media and temperature resistance. It is not only suitable for simple storage tanks, but is also ideal for use in absorbers, absorption towers and columns, including all internals such as various types of trays or support grids.

The history of KERA® thermoset

Steuler continues acid construction activities in Keramchemie

The material KERA® Duroplast was developed by Keramchemie GmbH and is based on the well-known Bakelite.

In 2010, the remaining acid construction activities of Keramchemie were taken over by the Steuler Group. Since then, Steuler Plastic Linings has continued to produce this material.
